It’s the final day of the Many Days of Jaxx, and we had to rest up yesterday, ’cause today’s a big one. The Jaxx-ShapeShift integration is finally ready to go, and we’ve just released it as part of Jaxx 1.0.2!
This release is available now for Chrome, Firefox, Android, and PC/Mac/Linux desktops, and will be available for iOS devices over the next 24-36 hours once it’s cleared Apple’s standard review process.
This feature can be used to quickly convert between the three options currently hosted by Jaxx – BTC, ETH, and DAO – and will also work for whatever coins and tokens we integrate in the future.
Jaxx users can open up the ShapeShift view by selecting the fox icon below the Amount bar on any wallet screen, or by entering “ShapeShift” into the Address bar. From this view, users can specify what coin/token type they would like to convert to, as well as view the current conversion rate for their selection and the minimum and maximum deposit allowed by ShapeShift. Users then simply enter the amount they want to convert (or “Shift”) in either fiat or the coin being converted and they’re good to go.
The Jaxx-ShapeShift integration is just the latest in what will be a wide variety of integrations designed to make Jaxx a unified blockchain command centre. I’d like to personally thank the Shapeshift team for the help with the integration and have to definitely give it up for our entire team here at Decentral.
Over the next while, we’ll be focusing on improving Jaxx’s performance, tightening up its UI, and addressing some of the bugs that have appeared in recent builds (eg. the difficulties with sweeping certain paper wallets).
Update, 4:40pm EST: We’ve just released a second update, which features a variety of UI fixes and tweaks, as well as some new fixes for the Transfer Paper Wallet feature.
